Milwaukee Nonprofits That Need Clothing Donations and Support Families

A Personal Look Inside the Need

As I looked around the Port of Missions clothing room this week, I noticed something. We were short on men’s clothes and shoes, and our shelves of personal hygiene kits were nearly empty. We have some, but we need many more. We like to be well stocked for the winter so that when families and individuals come in, we can meet their needs right away.

Even though we are so thankful for those who continue to give each month, we haven’t had anyone new begin contributing lately. We understand that times are hard and many people are stretched thin, but we’re getting low, especially with winter coming up.

Ministries like Port of Missions depend on the kindness of those who are willing to share what they have. When more people step in, we can help more people. If everyone who sees this post bought one item from our Amazon Wish List or donated a gently used or mostly new coat, pair of sweatpants, or gloves for men, we could continue to meet every need that comes through our door instead of turning anyone away.

Every gift matters. Your generosity helps us provide warmth, dignity, and hope to those who need it most.

How You Can Help Right Now

This season, our biggest need is for men’s clothing and personal hygiene kits. We have some, but we need many more so we can stay well stocked through the winter. Items like coats, sweatpants, gloves, and shoes are especially needed for men.

If you have been searching for Milwaukee nonprofits that need clothing donations, Port of Missions is one of the local ministries making an impact every week. You can donate gently used or mostly new items or shop directly from our Amazon Wish List to help us stay ready for the cold months ahead.

We also welcome ongoing gifts. Becoming a monthly supporter is one of the best ways to strengthen faith-based charities to donate to in our community. Even small recurring donations of five, ten, fifteen, or twenty dollars each month help us meet the immediate needs that come up every day. These consistent gifts make it possible to replenish hygiene kits and provide essential local community support resources for families in need.

Your contribution, whether through clothing, hygiene kits, or recurring donations, helps us continue serving those looking for homeless resources in Milwaukee. Together, we can make sure that no one is turned away when they come through our doors for help and hope.

Sometimes it’s easy to think that one coat or one pair of shoes won’t make much of a difference, but it truly does. Every item we receive reminds someone that they are not forgotten. Every dollar that comes in helps us stay ready when a new need arises.

If you’re looking for faith-based charities to donate to that are making a difference in real, tangible ways, Port of Missions Outreach Ministries is a place where your giving goes directly to helping others.

Your donation provides warmth to a man who has been walking the streets in the cold. It gives dignity to someone receiving a hygiene kit when they have nowhere else to turn. It allows us to keep saying “yes, we can help” instead of “we wish we could.”
